In certain lines of work, you may need to copy one or more files from a USB drive to your hard drive, on a regular basis. If you feel that you are wasting time by waiting until the computer detects your USB drive and browsing through its folders, you should let AutoUSBCheck do everything automatically. It works in the background and it can perform various actions when you plug in a USB drive.

AutoUSBCheck works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. You can use it free of charge, for as long as you want, but you can't modify its settings, unless you buy a license. The application can be installed almost instantly and it will not slow down your computer.

The executable file brings up a preferences panel, on which you can adjust the application's behavior. You may set it up to skip specific volumes and labels, create logs when you insert or remove USB drives or log volume contents. Besides creating logs, AutoUSBCheck is capable of copying the USB drive's contents automatically, if you select this option.

As previously mentioned, the application works quietly in the background. When you plug in a USB drive, it will start copying its contents without prompting you for anything or displaying any progress bars. AutoUSBCheck comes with Start and Stop buttons, so you can prevent it from copying files when you don't want to execute this action.

Additionally, you can set the application to include drive letters in the destination path, copy only newer files or process removable drives that are already connected. You can also set up size limits for files or total amount of data and set AutoUSBCheck to copy nothing but files with specific extensions.

Pros

The application will copy a USB drive's contents automatically when you plug it in. You can set it to copy only newer files or files with certain extensions, set up size limits and more. AutoUSBCheck is lightweight and it works quietly in the background, without using too many resources.

Cons

You can not make any settings while using the free version. With AutoUSBCheck, you just need to plug a USB drive into your computer to start copying all its contents or specific files to your hard drive.
